The SW Washington Winery Association Education Committee is proud to announce that Dr. James Osborne will present about wine chemistry and flaws. This will be a discussion to help winemakers better understand the science of wine and the conditions that influence flavors, stability, and quality. There will be a $10/person charge to cover some light food and refreshments during the presentation. Please bring cash to pay at the door.

DR. JAMES OSBORNE:
Dr. James Osborne is the Director of the Oregon Wine Research Institute and a Professor and Enology Extension Specialist in the Food Science and Technology Department at Oregon State University. He received his PhD from Washington State University in 2005 researching interactions between wine yeast and bacteria after which he spent time in his native New Zealand working at the University of Auckland. His research focuses on the impact of wine lactic acid bacteria, Brettanomyces, and non-Saccharomyces yeast on wine quality.
This event is open to all SW Washington Winery Association members and the Clark County Home Winemaking Club.
